MVNU Music Department Scholarship Auditions

February 23, 2013

Female Trombone Player Music Department scholarships are talent-based awards that are granted through audition before the MVNU music faculty. Scholarships are available for voice, piano, organ, most wind and string instruments, percussion, guitar, and composition. The awards are for one academic year and range from approximately $420-$3,000 and are offered to music majors, minors, or other disciplines.

In addition to these awards, the Music Department is offering two superior awards of $4,500. Only music majors are eligible for these awards. Scholarships may be renewable for future years if funding is available.

To be eligible for a scholarship, students must agree to study privately at MVNU on the instrument (or voice) on which they auditioned; register for one of the MVNU Music Department ensembles each semester of the award year; and maintain a good academic standing.

The scholarship auditions for the 2013-2014 year will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, in the R.R. Hodges Chapel / Fine Arts Building. Students who wish to audition must complete the application and have a music instructor complete the recommendation form. Applicants who cannot audition in person may submit a recording.

Details can be found in the music scholarship audition information link above. All applications, recommendations, and recordings must be submitted by February 13, 2013. Students inquiring after the deadline will only be accommodated if space and/or funding is still available.
