Welcome from Tim Barrett, Department Chair,

"We believe that teaching requires a strong knowledge base supported by practical experiences. Thus, all education students complete a variety of field assignments during their time at MVNU, culminating in student teaching during their senior year.

Even as a freshman, you have a field experience in a classroom at the level and in the subject of your choice. This lets you try on the roles of a teacher at the beginning of your college career. Throughout your program at MVNU, field experiences bring reality to the theories and methods taught in courses."
