RELIGION AND CHURCH MINISTRIES DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The Religion and Church Ministries department can help you prepare for effective pastoral ministry; for specialized service in missions, evangelism, or worship leadership; or for any number of careers grounded in philosophical training (higher education, law, professional writing, etc.). Our programs equip students for a wide range of church-related positions and for admission to graduate school.
Your courses in Bible, theology, church history, and practical ministry areas such as preaching, pastoral care, and evangelism, will lay the groundwork for understanding what it means to truly love God with all your mind through personal disciplines of study and reflection, and to love others through applying what you have learned to daily living.

You will have the advantage of practical learning experiences, including educational trips at home and abroad. You will be involved in conferences and workshops held on campus and located at major convention centers.
Plus you will learn from internship assignments with churches and other Christian organizations. You can join in fellowship groups for departmental majors, volunteer to lead Bible studies and ministry projects, and hone your skills in preaching and teaching through various campus ministry programs.
Whether your goal is to be a pastor, associate pastor, worship leader, or other staff minister in a local church, an evangelist, missionary, inner-city minister, or fully prepared for graduate school or seminary in religion/theology, philosophy, or law, a degree from MVNU in
religion and philosophy will help get you there!
