Section 1. Composition
1.1 Executive Officers

1.2 Alumni Council
(a) Is to consist of at least 7 but no more than 12 members.
(b) Those members shall be composed of Members At-large including at least one (1) alumnus/alumna from each decade of graduating classes, at least two (2) alumni residing outside of the MVNU region, and at least one (1) Graduate
& Professional Studies alumnus/alumna.
1.3 Ex officio Members (non-voting)
(a) Director of Alumni Relations
(b) Chief Fundraising Officer (inactive)
(c) Current senior class president
(d) President Elect
Section 2. Terms of Office
2.1 The Alumni Council President shall be elected for a term of four years, limited to two consecutive terms. The first year serving as President Elect, an Ex officio Member.
2.2 All other Executive Officers shall be elected for a term of three years, limited to two consecutive terms.
2.3 Alumni Council members shall serve a term of three years, limited to two consecutive terms unless elected as an officer.
2.4 All elected positions shall have terms of office that commence September 1 of the election year and expire on August 31 at the conclusion of three years of service. (Board of Trustees representative's terms begin at midnight the day of the fall Board of Trustees meeting).
Section 3. Meetings and Quorum
3.1 The Alumni Council shall hold a minimum of two meetings annually. The fall meeting shall be in October and the spring meeting shall follow soon after the Board of Trustees Meeting. The Alumni Office will provide lodging for Council members and travel reimbursement will be offered for either or both of the meetings.
3.2 The President shall have the authority to call special meetings of the Executive Officers at his/her own discretion, or upon the request of at least three members of the Committee. The Executive Officers shall have authority to call special meetings of the Alumni Council.
3.3 The Executive Officers shall be empowered to conduct the business of the Association in the interim between meetings of the Alumni Council.
3.4 A quorum of the Executive Officers and/or the Alumni Council shall consist of at least fifty percent (50%) of its voting members.
Section 4. Committees
The President of the Association in consultation with the Director of Alumni Relations may appoint standing committees and ad hoc committees as needed.
