Article V - Duties

Section 1. President

1.1 Preside over all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers;
1.2 Serve as a voting member of the Executive Officers and ex officio member of all other committees;
1.3 Set agendas for the Alumni Council and Executive Officers meetings in consultation with the Director of Alumni Relations;
1.4 Make committee appointments in consultation with the Executive Officers and the Director of Alumni Relations;
1.5 Contact Alumni Council who have missed two consecutive meetings regarding their continued service;
1.6 Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
1.7 Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the Association and financially contribute annually to the University;
1.8 Present special awards sponsored by the Association.

Section 2. Vice President

2.1 Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers;
2.2 Execute the duties of the President in his/her absence;
2.3 Serve as mentor to welcome and orient first-year Council members;
2.4 Oversee the activities of the Class Agents;
2.5 Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the President;
2.6 Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
2.7 Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the Association and financially contribute annually to the University;
2.8 Succeed the President for the remainder of any term.

Section 3. Alumni Representatives to the Board of Trustees

3.1 Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers;
3.2 Serve on the Board of Trustees to represent the interests of the Association and act as a liaison between the Alumni Council and the Board of Trustees;
3.3 Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the President;
3.4 Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
3.5 Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the Association and financially contribute annually to the University.

Section 4. Secretary

4.1 Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers;
4.2 Record all business proceedings of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers and submit minutes to the Office of Alumni Relations within 30 days following meetings;
4.3 Record and track attendance of the Alumni Council and Executive Officers members;
4.4 Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the President;
4.5 Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
4.6 Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the Association and financially contribute annually to the University.

Section 5. Members At-large

5.1 Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council;
5.2 Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the President;
5.3 Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
5.4 Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the Association and financially contribute annually to the University.

Section 6. President Elect

6.1 Duties as assigned by the acting President.
