ARTICLE VI Duties
Section 1. President
A.
Preside over all meetings of the Alumni Council and
Executive Committee;
B.
Serve as a voting member of the Executive Committee and ex
officio member of all other committees;
C.
Set agendas for the Alumni Council and Executive Committee
meetings in consultation with the Director of Alumni Relations;
D.
Make committee appointments in consultation with the
Executive Committee and the Director of Alumni Relations;
E.
Contact Alumni Council who have missed two consecutive
meetings regarding their continued service;
F.
Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events
sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
G.
Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the
Association;
H.
Present special awards sponsored by the Association.
Section 2. Vice President
A.
Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive
Committee;
B.
Execute the duties of the President in his/her absence;
C.
Serve as mentor to welcome and orient first-year Council
members;
D.
Oversee the activities of the Class Agents;
E.
Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the
President;
F.
Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events
sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
G.
Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the
Association;
H.
Succeed the President for the remainder of any term.
Section 3. Alumni Representatives to the Board of
Trustees
A.
Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive Committee;
B.
Serve on the Board of Trustees to represent the interests of
the Association and act as a liaison between the Alumni Council and the
Board of Trustees;
C.
Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the
President;
D.
Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events
sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
E.
Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the
Association.
Section 4. Secretary
A.
Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council and Executive
Committee;
B.
Record all business proceedings of the Alumni Council and
Executive Committee and submit minutes to the Office of Alumni Relations
within 30 days following meetings;
C.
Record and track attendance of the Alumni Council and
Executive Committee members;
D.
Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the
President;
E.
Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events
sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
F.
Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the
Association.
Section 5. Members At-large
A.
Attend all meetings of the Alumni Council;
B.
Chair and/or serve on committees as appointed by the
President;
C.
Represent the Alumni Council and the Association at events
sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and/or the University;
D.
Participate in and promote the fundraising efforts of the
Association.
