ARTICLE VII - Eligibility,
Election/Appointment, and Vacancies
Section 1. Eligibility
All members of the Alumni Council must meet the requirements for
Association membership under Article III, 1-2.
Alumni Representatives to the Board of Trustees must be members of
the Church of the Nazarene.
Section 2. Nomination and Election/Appointment
A.
Executive Committee
1.
A call for nominations will be sent to the entire
Association. All Council
members are encouraged to actively seek out suggestions for nominees from
the Association?s membership to assist in the nomination process.
A nominating committee appointed by the Association
President and composed of two (2) Council members and one (1) Class Agent
from each decade will review the nominations and select two (2) persons
for each position to be presented for approval to the Director of Alumni
Relations and the Vice President for University Advancement.

Executive Committee officers are elected by a ballot to the
entire Association.

A plurality of the ballots received shall determine an
election.
B.
Members At-large
1. A call for nominations will be sent to the entire
Association. All Council members are encouraged to actively seek out
suggestions for nominees from the Association?s membership to assist in
the nomination process.
All nominations will be presented to the Executive Committee
for consideration.
3.
Members At-large shall be appointed by the Executive
Committee in consultation with the Director of Alumni Relations and the
Vice President for University Advancement.
4.
Appointment is determined by a simple majority of all
Executive Committee officers.
5.
The filling of positions will be scheduled to elect
approximately one-third of the Council each year.
Section 3. Resignation
A letter of resignation shall be
submitted to the Director of Alumni Relations and the Executive Committee
a minimum of 30 days prior to any Alumni Council meeting.
Section 4. Removal
Any member of the Alumni Council who
misses two consecutive Council meetings will be contacted by the
Association President regarding their continued service.
After missing three consecutive Council meetings, without a
reasonable excuse, the Council member shall be replaced by the Director of
Alumni Relations in consultation with the Executive Committee.
Section 5. Vacancies
Vacancies
on the Executive Committee shall be filled by majority vote of the entire
Alumni Council from one or more nominations per position presented to the
Council by the Executive Committee. Vacancies
in other positions may be filled by appointment by the President of the
Association in consultation with the Executive Committee.
