ARTICLE VII - Association Awards

Section 1. Selection Process

The Alumni Council shall serve as the selection committee for awards bestowed by the MVNU Alumni Association, including the Distinguished Alumni Service Award and the Honorary Alumni Award.

Section 2. Nomination Process

2.1 Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Service Award may be submitted by any member of the Association and shall be made to the Alumni Council or the Office of Alumni Relations, who will keep nominations on file and submit names for consideration.

2.2 Any Council member or Class Agent may submit nominations for the Honorary Alumni Award to the Executive Officers for consideration.

Section 3. General Criteria

3.1 Distinguished Alumni Service Award
(a) The recipient must be a member of the MVNU Alumni Association in accordance with Article II, Section 1, 1.1-1.3.
(b) The recipient must demonstrate outstanding professional achievements and selfless church and community service, which exemplifies our motto, “To seek to learn is to seek to serve.”
(c) Documentation of the nominee’s contributions and achievements should be given to the Alumni Council or the Office of Alumni Relations in written form prior to the spring meeting of the Alumni Council.

3.2 Honorary Alumni Award
(a) This award is presented to MVNU faculty, staff, or friends who have been influential in the life of the University and/or the Association and have demonstrated a continuing interest in MVNU.
