What is Music & Ministry?
Sponsored by Enrollment Management, these traveling groups of MVNU students represent Christ and our university through music and relationship-building in churches, youth camps, special events, conventions, etc., throughout Ohio, West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky.

How are group members selected?
Through an application, interview, and audition process. Plans at present are to have 3 groups: 1) full year group (June-May); 2) a summer only group; and 3) a school year group. Music & Ministry is open to students in all academic majors. Group members are selected based upon a variety of factors, including musical ability, personality, ministry potential, and group mix. Participants must commit themselves to life-style ministry and total availability for this avenue of service Note: Only returning MVNU students and May graduates are considered for groups traveling this summer. Incoming freshmen and transfers may audition for the school-year only group.

What is the commitment?
Being part of an M&M summer group is considered a full-time ministry job. We begin with training camp around May 27 and travel throughout the week and on weekends until mid-August, typically getting days off at various points during the summer. During the school year, M&M groups rehearse each weekly, have a weekly meeting with the M&M coordinator, and travel most weekends throughout the school year (except breaks and choir tour weekends). There may also be an occasional (but rare) weekday event, with a release from classes. Group members are under contract, and are compensated with scholarship and salary.

How do I apply and when are the interviews/auditions?
Application packets may be picked up in the Enrollment Management office in Founders Hall (1st floor), and must be returned no later than 4:30 PM on February 27. Interviews & auditions will be held Friday-Saturday, February 29-March 1, in Nease Hall (Chapel/Fine Arts Bldg). A time on Friday will be assigned to each applicant and emailed on Feb. 28. Incoming freshmen may also interview and audition during Breakaway on April 24-25, and must return completed applications by mail no later than April 18. Group members must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, maintain exemplary behavior at all times (MVNU social probation prohibited), and have a heart for ministry!
