Early in my service to the University, I want to engage the entire campus community in the self-study process leading toward the goal of re-affirmation of our regional accreditation by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in 2009 and to encourage each university employee to find a place of contribution to these efforts.
In the self-study process, we will examine our capacity to fulfill our mission and vision and document the following:
Highlight and chronicle the University achievements since the last regional accreditation site-visit in 1999.
Identify and acknowledge areas of challenge as we commit to continuous improvement of student learning outcomes and institutional services.
Design, refine and implement the University strategic plan as we seek to advance God's work in our arenas of responsibility.
Celebrate how God has worked through the University to achieve a positive impact on our students as they serve and change our culture.
Shortly you will receive additional communication from the HLC Steering Committee about opportunities for your participation in the self-study process. Our goal is to have every member of the campus community involved in this significant process - your efforts will be greatly appreciated and should be a springboard to the university's future.
I look forward to the opportunity to share my perspective and vision with you in the special forum scheduled for February 15.
Have a wonderful day and God bless you for all you are doing at MVNU!
