Middendorf brings discussion of emerging church to MVNU
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University will host a youth pastors and directors workshop on Tuesday, May 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Free Enterprise Business Center.
Jon Middendorf will be the guest speaker and the focus will be on "Faith for an Emerging Culture."
The emerging church is not about one specific denomination, but rather the church as a whole. Middendorf will touch on the hopes and questions within the theology of what many have begun to call the "emerging generation." He will share as a student, a believer and a third generation minister.
Middendorf is currently the senior pastor of Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene (OKC). He previously served at OKC as a youth pastor, senior associate pastor and pastor of student ministries.
In addition to his pastoral ministry, Middendorf is a renowned speaker and author. He also serves as the consultant and coordinator of Big Picture Training which is designed to train and encourage Nazarene youth ministers.
Cost for the seminar is $49 per person, which includes lunch, snacks and materials. A discounted cost of $45 for two or more persons from the same church is also offered. Interested individuals should register online at churchrelations.mvnu.edu, or by calling 1-877-640-7400. There is a $10 late fee for registration received after April 29.
