MVNU choir to perform at professional music clinic
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Collegians Chorale has been invited to perform at the Choral Music Celebration Clinic in Canton, Ohio, on Friday, Aug. 8, at 7:15 p.m., at Canton First Church of the Nazarene.
The annual three-day clinic, sponsored by Berean Christian Stores in Canton, hosts over 300 church choral directors from several states. Attendees examine sacred choral music with representatives from nearly 20 music publishers. It is an intense time of work as well as rejuvenation for church musicians.
Much camaraderie and inspiration comes from the evening concert gatherings at which Collegians will sing. “It will be a joy to present our varied repertoire of sacred classics, gospel, spirituals and contemporary literature to this knowledgeable and appreciative crowd,” said Collegians Director Dr. Bob Tocheff. “I’ve come to know my colleagues at this conference over the past two decades. No audience will be more moved by the power of choral music than this one.”
The public is invited to attend this free concert. Canton First Church of the Nazarene is located at 522 30th Street N.W. in Canton.
