VeggieTales Spectacular “Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry’s Big River Rescue" comes to MVNU
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Take a ride on the mighty Mississippi where an all-new family adventure unfolds with the latest homespun tale from Big Idea, Inc., an Entertainment Rights group company. To celebrate the DVD release of VeggieTales® Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry’s Big River Rescue, WNZR 90.9 FM and Gospel Supply Shop are hosting a VeggieTales Spectacular Premiere on Saturday, July 12, in Thorne Performance Hall at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium on the campus of Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
There will be two different showings: 4:30 and 7 p.m.; doors open 15 minutes before each show.
In VeggieTales® Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry’s Big River Rescue, Bob and Larry star as the adventuresome duo in a creative veggie take on the great American classics of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry are two friends homesteading along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. Tom and Huck look forward to owning their own land, building a home and opening Huck’s Jerkyland and Tom’s Tax Preparation. But everything changes when they meet a mysterious stranger who is on the run and trying to find his mama. Will Huck and Tom risk losing all they’ve worked for in order to help someone they hardly know? Find out in this exciting river rescue that reminds kids of the importance of helping others.
Prior to each showing, WNZR DJs will sing several “silly songs” with the crowd and give out prizes. The event will also include the debut of a brand-new silly song called, “The Biscuit of Zazzamarandabo.” Tickets are $2 for all ages and can be purchased at Gospel Supply Shop (117 South Main St.), WNZR studios (800 Martinsburg Road) or by calling (740) 392-9090.
