Mount Vernon Nazarene University: Life Changing
Small Group Ministries

There's nothing like a group for committed fellowship, Bible study, prayer, service, and accountability to help one grow in their daily journey with Jesus Christ.

Small Group Bible Studies

Whether these groups meet in dorms, apartments or elsewhere on campus, they offer the opportunity to consider God's word with the mind and the heart, helped by the questions and insights of others in the group. Members commit, or "covenant," to be a regular part of the group for at least a semester.

Prayer Ministries

The Prayer Walk - The Prayer Walk is a maze of stations set up throughout the chapel auditorium. The idea of "The Prayer Walk" is taken from a Prayer Labyrinth which allows one to go through different stations and spend time reflecting on God's Word, praying, answering questions that are specific to concerns and anxieties that you may be dealing with in your daily walk with Jesus Christ. All students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in "The Prayer Walk." This event runs for 2 weeks prior to Fall Revival during the fall semester.

Prayer Rooms - Students have an opportunity to use the different prayer rooms that are set up within the Residential Dorms during the school year. These prayer rooms provide a quiet atmosphere to be still, come before the Lord in prayer, take time to journal and meditate on God's Word. There are prayer rooms located on the second floors of Pioneer Hall, Galloway Hall, and Oakwood Hall. For upperclassmen living in the apartments or Redwood Hall there is a prayer room in Birch F Lounge and on the first floor of Redwood Hall.

Have a Prayer Request?
All prayer requests need to be sent to the following email address prayerwarriors@mvnu.edu instead of being emailed to the switchboard. The division of Campus Ministries (Small Group Ministries/Prayer Warriors - coordinated through Kendra Lambert) will be handling all requests. Prayer Requests will continue to be sent out to all faculty, staff, and students via email so that the campus community can pray for the needs. Please be specific about what group you would like your prayer request to be sent out to (ex: just to faculty & staff, or students, or all campus members).
