Joe Lazor

Inducted during the 2001-2002 school year

Joe Lazor Joe Lazor was a three-year member of the baseball team from 1984-1986 before being drafted at the conclusion of his junior season at MVNC.

During Lazor's career, the Cougars posted an overall record of 92-45 and won one Mid-Ohio Conference title.

As a junior, Lazor posted an 8-2 record on the mound with a 2.04 earned run average and 109 strikeouts in 83 2/3 innings of work. For his efforts that year, he was chosen as the Mid-Ohio Conference and NAIA District 22 Player of the Year and named to the NAIA Area 6 Team. He was also selected as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

For his career, Lazor posted a 19-8 record over three seasons with a 3.01 ERA. He still ranks third in career strikeouts with 237.

After the conclusion of his junior season, Lazor became the third MVNC baseball player to be drafted when he was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 5th round. In 1988, he was the starting pitcher in the Double A All-Star Game.
