Eric Pennington

year As a point guard for the Cougars, Eric still holds every MVNU assist record – 823 in his career, 268 in his junior season, and 19 in a game vs. Walsh University on January 19, 1995. In addition, Eric scored 1,580 points in 129 career games, which still ranks 12th on the school’s all-time scoring list. He also ranks second in career steals (227), seventh in career free throws made (268), and tenth in career three-pointers made (212). As a senior, Eric led MVNU to its first appearance in the NAIA Division II national tournament when the team posted an overall record of 22-10. For his efforts that year, he became the first men’s basketball player to be selected as an NAIA Division II Honorable Mention All-American. He was also a two-time All-Mid-Ohio Conference pick.
