Welcome WeekMove-in Day

Move-in Day

Move-In Day for new residential students is Thursday, August 24, 2017. The residence halls open at 10 a.m. Move-In Day for returning students is Friday, August 25, 2017. The residence areas open at 10 a.m.

Schedule:

  • 9 a.m. — Check in & Move in (students who live more than 60 miles away)

  • 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Check-in & Move-in (students who live less than 60 miles away)

  • 4–6 p.m. — Move-in Day Dinner, RSVP required

  • 6:30–7:30 p.m. — Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting (Chapel)

  • Move-In Day Dinner is Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, in the Dining Commons.

Please RSVP for dinner for all new students and guests. If you plan to attend this meal, please make your reservations at the link above or by calling 1-866-462-MVNU, option 4, or locally at 740-397-9000, ext. 4600. New students eat free and each family member or guest may attend with reservations at $10.50 each. ALL RSVPs MUST BE RECEIVED BY THURSDAY, AUGUST 17. 

There are two dinner time options (please indicate your desired time when you register).

OPTION 1: Arrive to dinner between 4 and 4:45 p.m. 
OPTION 2: Arrive to dinner between 5 and 5:45 p.m.

Tickets can be picked up at the information tent on the Oakwood lawn. Extra tickets may be purchased on Move-In Day on a first come, first serve basis pending availability. Tickets are limited. 

Thursday, August 24 – MOVE-IN DAY

● 9:00 a.m. - Check in & Move in (students who live more than 60 miles away)

● 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Check in & Move in (students who live less than 60 miles away)

● 3:00 p.m. - Check-In Closed (Students & families may continue to work in rooms)

● 4:00–6:00 p.m. - Move-in Day Dinner, RSVP Required. (Dining Commons)

Blue ticket arrive at 4:00–4:45 p.m.

Green ticket arrive at 5:00-5:45 p.m.

● 6:30–7:30 p.m. - Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting (Chapel)

● 8:00 p.m. — Residence Area Meetings *Required

Friday, August 25

● 7:30–8:30 a.m. - Breakfast (Dining Commons)

● 8:30–9 a.m. - New Student Institute Check-in *Required

● 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - New Student Institute (meals and activities are provided as a part of NSI) *Required

● 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Gathering at Ariel Foundation Park (concert & ice cream)

Saturday, August 26

● 7:45–8:30 a.m. - Breakfast (Dining Commons)

● 9:00 a.m. - New Student Institute Check-in *Required

● 9:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - New Student Institute (meals and activities are provided as a part of NSI) *Required

● 6:00-7:30 p.m. - Church Fair (Chapel lobby)

● 7:30 p.m. – Shine Forth Worship Service (Chapel Auditorium)

Sunday, August 27

● 8:15 – 9:30 a.m. Breakfast (Dining Commons)

● Worship at local church

● 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.- Lunch with Small Groups (Dining Commons)

● 1:00-4:00 p.m. - Sabbath Time Activities (Ariel Foundation Park)

● 1:00–3:00 p.m. - Choir auditions in Nease Rehearsal Hall (Chapel)

● 5:00 p.m. - Dinner (Dining Commons)

● 7–9 p.m. - Open Dorms (Residence Halls)

● 9 p.m. - Residential Meetings *Required (Residence Halls) Welcome Week (August 28-Sept. 2, 2017)
