MVNU Celebrates Donors, Friends at Annual Recognition Luncheon

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University recently honored donors and friends at the annual Donor Recognition Luncheon on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Foster Hall, Ariel Arena on the MVNU campus. The luncheon recognizes those generously supporting the university through endowment scholarships and annual giving.

“I have been so looking forward to this day because it’s my first chance to meet many of you face-to-face and thank you for all you’ve done to enrich the life of our University and our incredible students,” said Justin Nowicki, Director of Development at MVNU.

“Without you, it would be very difficult to fulfill the mission and vision of MVNU. You are very important partners and we thank you for coming today to visit with our students and to celebrate that partnership,” said Nowicki.

Award recipients include:

  • Distinguished Philanthropist Award — Dr. Charles McCall, Professor Emeritus of Religion
  • Outstanding Philanthropic Alumni — Kaye Ranke (’86)
  • Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation— The Ariel Foundation, Mount Vernon, Ohio
  • New Generation Alumni Philanthropist — Ben (’17) and Kasey (’16) Kindle
  • Student Award for Generosity — Brianna Lee (current junior)
  • Volunteer Service Award — Ron Billow (’70)

“We are thankful for all of our incredible donors, many of whom give sacrificially to ensure that the MVNU experience is accessible to as many as possible and enriched for all involved. Thank you for extending generosity to those here with us today, and those who will be the beneficiaries of your benevolence in the years and decades to come,” said James Smith, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing, and interim Vice President of University Relations at MVNU.
