The Collingsworth Family brings Mercy and Love Tour to Mount Vernon Nazarene University
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce a special concert by The Collingsworth Family that will engage community worship at R.R. Hodges Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 6 p.m.
“For 50 years, MVNU has enjoyed a great, but low-key, relationship to our community. In many ways we have been the best kept secret of the area. This concert is a way for MVNU to celebrate our 50th Anniversary, and heighten exposure to the general evangelical population of central Ohio,” said Jim Dorough, a spokesman for the university
The Collingsworth Family has been blessed with God-given vocal and instrumental talents and include parents, Phil and Kim, and their children, Brooklyn, Courtney, Phillip and Olivia. Collectively, their voices lift audiences in worship while individual musical talents help drive the message and praise God for his grace and mercy.
Their journey started when Phil and Kim performed together at a church camp in 1986 and has grown in their 33 years of ministry. In 2000, the couple turned their emphasis to recording professionally and launched a new career path and rapidly expanded their ministry. They credit their success to “cutting-edge arranging, musical excellence, and a proper balance of spiritual emphasis.”
The family has issued over 25 CDs including “MERCY & LOVE.” This latest collection incorporates the best musicians, producers and songwriters including the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bill and Gloria Gaither.
R.R. Hodges Chapel is located on the beautiful MVNU campus at 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
