MVNU Recognizes Retirees
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — A special chapel service was held Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Mount Vernon Nazarene University honoring retirees and Recognition of Service recipients.
MVNU is grateful for their years of service and they will be greatly missed by their respective academic schools.
“A lot has changed since 1968 when this wonderful place called Mount Vernon Nazarene University came into existence, but one of the things that has not changed over all of the years are those whom God calls to serve here in the context of our faculty and our staff,” said Rev. Joe Noonen, Vice President for Student Life and University Chaplain at MVNU.
“Those of us who have had the privilege to walk these hallowed halls remember with fondness those who were present in our lives in the classroom and offices to provide the necessary support for everything that happens in this university,” said Noonen.
Retirees are Dr. Jane Kennard, Associate Professor of Christian Education, School of Theology and Philosophy, 15 years of service; Mr. Merel Pickenpaugh, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, School of Natural and Social Sciences, 13 years; and Dr. Rick Williamson, Professor of Biblical Literature, School of Theology and Philosophy, 17 years.
