EventsNew Student Orientation

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is essential and required for all new freshmen, transfer, and full-time College Credit Plus students who are enrolling in fall 2019. You can choose the session that works best for you!

Registration begins at 10 a.m., but you can get a Fast Pass and jump the line at Orientation and you won't have to come to registration until noon!

Registration dates for fall 2019:

  • Spring NSO: Jan. 9 - Registration TBA

Reminder to College Credit Plus, and Advanced Placement (AP) students: To receive credit for coursework, your official transcripts or test scores must be faxed directly from the school's registrar/guidance office or mailed/delivered in a sealed envelope from the office before August 31st. Transcripts can be faxed to Transcripts at 740-393-0511 or mailed to MVNU Admissions, 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.


  • Noon–1:00 p.m. — Registration
  • Noon–1:00 p.m. — New Student ID Photos
  • 12:15 p.m.–12:45 p.m. — Trigonometry Testing (for select majors)
  • 12:15 p.m.–12:45 p.m. — Optional Early Bird Campus Tour
  • 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. — Opening Session
  • 2:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. — Resource Fair
  • 2:30 p.m.–3:10 p.m. — Student Group Advising
  • 2:30 p.m.–3:10 p.m. — Parent Session
  • 3:10 p.m.–3:30 p.m. — Closing Session
  • 3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. — Enrollment Tasks and Optional Activities

*These events take place at Ariel Arena

Sept. 23: 1st day Freshmen may be gone overnight
