Enyart presented the MVNU Board of Trustees Hospitality Award

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Board of Trustees presented the 2023 BOT Hospitality Award to Benzel A. Enyart, Tech Support and Asset Management for the University’s Information Technology Services Department.

The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees established the Hospitality Award to recognize individuals on campus for outstanding hospitality. The criteria include making a significant impact upon the University through consistent hospitality; demonstrating positive, respectful, and effective interaction with students, faculty, staff and/or the public; and exhibiting professionalism, warmth, and a gracious attitude.

“Benzel, the Board of Trustees is honored to present this award to you tonight,” said Rev. Ed Phillips, Board Chair. “We started this award to encourage a hospitable attitude throughout campus, and we are glad to see that it is evident in our offices and among our students. We would like to present you with this Towel and Basin statue as a reminder of your service.”

Enyart has been employed at MVNU since 2015, serving in various roles within the ITS Department. He is one of the first people most new employees will meet as he supplies the technology they will need for their work. He is always respectful, always courteous, and always helpful. Whatever is asked of him he is ready to assist and learn, all with a friendly smile.

“Benzel is the example of a Christian employee with a true servant’s heart. He has the gift of being able to work with technology, to rationalize through issues and determine the best course of action, and to research and develop his knowledge and abilities,” said John Walchle, Director of ITS. “We are blessed to have Benzel at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Information Technology Services is a better place with him here. I am grateful to be able to work alongside him and look forward to seeing him continue to grow in his role at MVNU.”

Throughout his employment at MVNU, supervisors and colleagues have witnessed his social and professional growth and applaud his ability to master the technical aspects and provide gracious customer service.

“He thrives in his role. His even keel and level head allow him to provide consistent service while not being swayed by the frantic nature of customer service. He loves helping people, loves the challenge of the technical unknown, and has the analytical mind to keep track of all the equipment around campus,” said Joshua Cunningham, Infrastructure Engineer, and former supervisor.
