Meet The Phonathon Callers
As an important part of MVNU’s fundraising team, student callers reach out to alumni, and friends of the University to share exciting news about campus activities, update contact information, and help raise funds for scholarships and other initiatives. Meet them below.

The Phonathon is one of my favorite parts of the semester because it allows me to connect with people that I never would have had the chance to talk to. It has given me the opportunity to be encouraged and encourage others through phone conversations and make a difference at the school.

MVNU has been my home since I first visited in 8th grade. I love this place and have cherished each moment that I have been able to spend on campus. This is my third year working with Phonathon, and I came back again because I love getting to talk to other people who love MVNU as much as I do. I want to help this campus grow and flourish in any way that I can.

Being a part of a Christian community has helped me grow in my faith through the courses I’ve taken, relationships I’ve built with peers, and professors, and the all-around family atmosphere!

Mount Vernon has been the best experience for me. I love the small community and Christian community. I grew up in a small town a lot like Mount Vernon, so I still feel very much at home here. I joined the Phonathon team because I want to hear all the stories from our donors and friends and help my school grow.
Kelsey Cyr
Graduating Year: 2026
Hometown: Ellicott City, MD
Major: Middle Childhood Education
When I first walked on campus, MVNU felt like a breath of fresh air. It allowed a space for me to be myself while also growing in my relationship with Christ. With my original intention of going to college being to just make it through and get the degree so that I could teach, I have learned that it can be so much more. This was one of the reasons I became a Phonathon caller. I also wanted to give back to the school that has supported me every step of the way and has helped me get to where I am.

This campus has been a big part of my spiritual journey. Growing up in many different places it has been a blessing to land at MVNU. Deciding to be a Phonathon caller was exciting because I know I get to share how MVNU has made me grow in many aspects and help the university that helped me.

I fell in love with the community at MVNU the minute I moved in. The atmosphere and the people at MVNU have built an amazing community. I wanted to be a Phonathon caller to help tell people how amazing MVNU truly is.

I wanted to be a Phonathon caller to help share the great experiences MVNU has given me. Growing up in the Nazarene church helped me transition into MVNU smoothly and confidently. I admire the welcoming, friendly, and faith-based environment as well as the high standards that are upheld daily by this University.

MVNU has given me a strong sense of community and friendship. My original intent on coming here was for sports. However, that perspective changed once I became involved with other aspects MVNU has to offer. I have grown in my faith exponentially and continue to grow. That is part of the reason why I wanted to be a Phonathon caller. I wanted to give back and support my school and make a difference, just like MVNU has made a difference in me.
