Goliards, Jazz Band team up for night of jazz, pop and Broadway
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Goliards Chamber Choir and Jazz Band will collaborate for a jazz concert on Thursday, Nov. 16.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Goliards Chamber Choir and Jazz Band will collaborate for a jazz concert on Thursday, Nov. 16. The free concert begins at 7:30 p.m., in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Building.
With Goliards stepping outside their comfort zone, both ensembles will present a program of jazz, pop, and Broadway standards including material from Billy Joel, Michael Bublé, Dean Sorenson, Henry Mancini and more. The two groups will join to end their concert with a fun piece, “I Could Write a Book,” from Pal Joey arranged by Darmon Meader.
The community is encouraged to attend.

MVNU to host OMEA District 10 Honor Bands
Mount Vernon Nazarene University will host the 2025 Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 10 middle school and high school honors bands for a day of education and performance on Saturday, Dec.6.
