MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibit, Retro, showcasing a wide range of artwork from artist Jeremie Riggleman. The exhibition will be held at Schnormeier Gallery from January 9 to March 14. The gallery will be closed February 24 through March 7 for MVNU’s spring break.
Retro features the progression of Riggleman’s work as he addresses themes of place and culture. From playfully elevated lawn art pulled from the Midwest landscape to photographs of St. Simons Island in Georgia, Riggleman manipulates his images to develop narratives and evoke memories that question how we perceive the world around us. Through the exploration of color and texture, Riggleman invites curiosity into his studio practice.
Visitors are invited to join a special gallery talk with Riggleman on February 13 at 6 p.m., followed by a reception until 8 p.m. This event provides a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and gain insights into his creative process and the themes behind his work.
