MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — WNZR 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is preparing for Lifeline 2025, its annual fundraising campaign, set for March 26-31. This offers an opportunity for listeners to pledge their support for WNZR and help reach this year’s goal of $75,000.

The theme, Made For These Days,is based on Jeremy Camp’s song, “These Days,” and the theme verse for Lifeline 2025 is Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” (NLT). This verse affirms that while change may be constant in our lives, we are right where God wants us to be — His masterpiece — and he has a plan and a purpose for us in this time and place.

“In August 2024, we prayerfully chose our Lifeline 2025 theme, trusting that God was already at work. We believed then, and know now, that His plan is woven into the powerful words of Jeremy Camp’s song,” said Marcy Rinehart, WNZR Station Manager and co-host of The Morning Thing. “The lyrics of ‘These Days’ remind us that no matter how chaotic the world may seem, we are exactly where we are meant to be. God has called us by name. We don’t have to fear because we were Made for These Days.

“Our theme verse, Ephesians 2:10, is a beautiful promise: God has prepared a plan and a purpose for our lives. With that assurance, I am filled with anticipation for what He will do through our radio ministry in 2025. Let’s walk boldly into the future, trusting in His perfect plan!”

Joe Rinehart, MVNU’s Director of Broadcasting and co-host of WNZR’s Afternoon Drive, shared his perspective: “I wholeheartedly believe in Jeremy Camp’s message – we were Made For These Days! Life hits us in many ways. Today we might be tired, worn down, discouraged, dealing with disappointment or loss, and just wondering what tomorrow holds. Maybe we’ve stayed committed, even when it’s been hard. This song reminds us that God has a plan for us. He holds our hand and directs the right people to our path when we’re struggling. This song and verse renew my confidence that I am in the right place at the right time, and He has called me by name! We were all born to shine bright in the darkness and we don’t have to be discouraged or afraid. This world needs the hope inside of us, so let us echo Paul’s letter in Galatians, to not become weary in doing good, for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

“Every piece of my story is woven into the overarching masterpiece that God planned beforehand,” said Abby Almodovar, a junior Communication and Media major from New Philadelphia. “This means that yes, I am where I am for a reason! This is a comfort and an encouragement to be intentional in using my gifts and opportunities for His glory.”

Josiah Pletcher, a freshman Communication and Media major from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, added, “Made For These Days means that we were all created to be here in this moment. God has given us all a special set of abilities to glorify Him at this place and time in our lives. It is our job to use our skills to spread the love of Jesus.”
