MVNU Celebrates New Inductees
Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce the induction of nine exceptional nursing students into the Rho Nu at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing during a recent ceremony. The recent ceremony took place in the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium on the MVNU campus.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce the induction of nine exceptional nursing students into the Rho Nu at-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing during a recent ceremony. The recent ceremony took place in the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium on the MVNU campus.
Sigma Theta Tau International (Sigma) is the leading international honor society for nursing, recognizing excellence in nursing scholarship and leadership. The Rho Nu at-Large Chapter — a joint chapter of MVNU and Ashland University — was established on April 20, 2002. This year, a total of 16 nursing students were inducted for their academic excellence, clinical skills, and leadership in the nursing profession.
The MVNU students inducted this year included:
- Ethan Byrom (Junior/Mansfield, OH)
- Hayden Salyers (Senior/Fort Mitchell, KY)
- Kennady Ruhl (Senior/Richwood, OH)
- Brooke Frazier (Senior/Middletown, OH)
- Jaelyn Tang (Junior/Mililani, HI)
- Leah White (Senior/Mount Gilead, OH)
- Alivia Schmink (Junior/Milford, IL)
- Emma Dillinger (Senior/Mount Vernon, OH)
- Ashley Merrick (Junior/Bolivar, OH)
“This is a prestigious honor, highlighting the individual’s dedication to advancing the field of nursing through scholarship, research, and service,” said Dr. Judy Gregg, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. “The department is incredibly proud of these deserving students who have been inducted into the society. The induction is not only a recognition of their past achievements, but also a testament to their future potential as leaders in nursing.
