From BSW Graduate to Future MBA

Amber began her educational journey at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) by pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). She graduated in May 2023 and, driven by her ambition to grow further, enrolled in MVNU’s online MBA program with a specialization in Healthcare Administration (HCA) in October 2023. Thanks to MVNU’s flexible online format, Amber is balancing her studies with her busy life and is on track to graduate with her MBA in May 2025.

Balancing Life as a Single Mom and Career Leader

A single mother to three children, Amber has faced life’s challenges with unwavering strength. Despite personal hardships, she worked tirelessly as an Operations Director at an outpatient addiction clinic while earning her degree. Her hard work and determination paid off when she accepted a position as Executive Director for a home healthcare agency in April 2024.

Through it all, MVNU’s online programs have provided Amber with the flexibility and support she needed to balance her demanding career and responsibilities as a mother to her three children, ranging from 9 to 15 years old.
