MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Scott as the new Campus Events and Community Relations Manager. She is the community point person responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and supporting conferences and events at MVNU facilities.
“Sarah brings to this role significant experience in marketing, project management, and facilities management,” said Assistant Vice President for Development Darrel George. “Her first MVNU event really opened her eyes to the possible extended impact she could have upon the university through this role in the areas of revenue, community relations, and enrollment. We are excited about the positive impact we expect Sarah to bring to the quality of our community relations and the positive bottom-line effect of on-campus events.”
Scott graduated from MVNU in 2001 with a degree in Broadcasting Communication and has worked with MVNU’s traditional and online enrollment and recruitment efforts. She also has 13 years of property management and five years of marketing experience.
“I am mostly excited about bridging the gap between our community and the best kept secret it has — MVNU!” said Scott. “We have some amazing facilities. A constant theme we hear when people visit campus is how beautiful it is and how much it feels like home. We want our community to feel ‘at home’ when they are here on campus.”
As Campus Events and Community Relations Manager, Scott will help MVNU enhance its relationship with community members and organizations by promoting the spaces available for organization and family events.
“I plan to get involved in as many organizations around this community that I can by attending their events and working with their organizations on boards, committees, etc. I want MVNU to know what is going on in the community and the community to know what is going on at MVNU!”
MVNU’s facilities can be rented by the public for a wide variety of occasions and functions. From groups as small as 8 to larger than 2,600, MVNU has a venue to fit needs for banquets, weddings and receptions, summer camps with housing, retreats, meetings, athletic tournaments, and much more.
