MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University President Dr. Carson Castleman is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Cindy Sizemore as the new Executive Director of Alumni Relations and President’s Circle.

“I am thrilled that Dr. Cindy Sizemore will be stepping into the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and President’s Circle role,” said Dr. Castleman. “As an alumnus from the early years of MVNU, Dr. Sizemore brings a deep understanding and passion for our university and its alumni. I am confident she will do an outstanding job in fostering connections and enhancing our alumni relations.”

Dr. Sizemore, a 1974 Mount Vernon Nazarene College graduate, has previously served as the Director of Development and will succeed Mike Cheek (’82), who is transitioning to the full-time role of Executive Director of Major Gifts within the Development Office.

In her new position, Dr. Sizemore will oversee all alumni-related programs and activities, with a focus on developing and strengthening relationships within the MVNU alumni community. She will be responsible for establishing and overseeing local and regional alumni chapters, and developing an effective program to engage current students to become supportive alumni.

Dr. Sizemore will also collaborate with the Director of Admissions to help support recruitment efforts as they relate to alumni and the Legacy Program; collaborate with the Director of Career Services for opportunities to connect alumni who are seeking internships or employment; and visit churches on the East-Central Field of the Church of the Nazarene, and denomination-wide gatherings such as NYC, General Assembly and the Nazarene National Softball tournament as a representative of MVNU.

“As an alumnus, MVNU holds a very special place in my heart,” Dr. Sizemore said. “I am passionate about empowering others to serve as MVNU continues to grow and transforms lives in our communities as we are called to be the light of the world. I love MVNU and the precious and priceless relationships that have been part of my life for many years.

“I also seek to serve and embrace new relationships and opportunities for MVNU.”

She will continue serving as a development officer by engaging with donors in the President’s Circle. This group consists of friends and alumni supporters who contribute $1,000 or more to MVNU during the current or prior fiscal year (July 1-June 30).

“My heart is in the opportunity we all have to give back through our community and financial service here at MVNU,” said Dr. Sizemore. “Philanthropy is another way I am able to give, including multiple opportunities to raise funds for scholarships by sharing the importance of giving to the President’s Circle.”

Dr. Sizemore and her husband of 41 years, Greg, live in Glendale, Ohio. Greg is an attorney, business owner and enjoys teaching law and leadership at the university level. Their son, Nathaniel, is an attorney and entrepreneur in their family business.  He is also in the process of releasing his second book. Nathaniel and his wife, Erin who is a District Court Judge, live in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, with their three children — Elizabeth, Charlotte Grace and William.

Alumni are invited to meet Dr. Sizemore at Homecoming, Nov. 8-10, or at various alumni events throughout the year. For more details, visit mvnu.edu/alumni/events-and-activities.
