MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene University proudly announces that Taiylor Romine, MVNU Online Enrollment Specialist and Adjunct Professor, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Board of Trustees Hospitality Award. This prestigious award, established by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, is given annually to an individual who demonstrates outstanding hospitality and a positive impact on the university community.
The Hospitality Award is based on the following criteria:
- Making a significant impact on the University through consistent hospitality.
- Demonstrating positive, respectful, and effective interactions with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Exhibiting professionalism, warmth, and a gracious attitude.
During a recent special ceremony, Romine was presented with the “Towel and Basin” statue, which symbolically serves as a reminder of the servant-hearted hospitality that she consistently demonstrates in her work at MVNU.
“We are truly blessed by Taiylor’s dedication to work with excellence and go above and beyond every single day,” said Johnna Vanover, Vice President of University Marketing and CAPS Enrollment, Chief Marketing Officer. “She connects with students, staff and attends events on campus and positively impacts the entire university. She greets everyone with kindness and grace and really wants to help every person she meets. What a blessing it is to work alongside Taiylor and have her with us at MVNU.”
Romine has made a remarkable impact on graduate education. Her tireless recruitment efforts, personal follow-up, and seamless coordination with faculty helped bring two over-enrolled Master of Social Work cohorts into fruition.
Dr. Eric Stetler, Vice President of Academic Affairs, works closely with Romine and emphasized the depth of her impact: “Taiylor Romine exemplifies hospitality not as a surface-level kindness, but as a deep commitment to people, systems, and mission. Faculty who works closely with her describe her as a go-getter. She is tenacious and solutions-oriented, but also warm, patient, and full of grace. Her spirit reflects the fruit of the Spirit — kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control all show up in how she serves.”
