To continue to enhance the quality of services and resources offered to students, MVNU welcomes opinions, feedback and constructive ideas. The University is committed to ensuring that students have an avenue for articulating concerns, complaints and grievances.

In communicating specific concerns, complaints and grievances, students are encouraged to follow established policies and procedures outlined in the online MVNU Student Handbook and the MVNU Catalog. These methods include grievance and appeal procedures for academic problems or grades, academic suspension and other academic policies; harassment and non-discrimination policy complaints, reports of sexual misconduct; housing issues, financial aid, probation or suspension; disability services, and access to educational records.

Online students residing in any SARA-member state may contact the Ohio Department of Higher Education (https://www.ohiohighered.org/students/complaints) concerning complaints, after having completed the MVNU student complaint process.

HLC Student Complaint Process

Mount Vernon Nazarene University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

HLC has a formal complaint process, consisting of an online complaint form on the HLC website, for faculty, students and other parties to submit information regarding a member institution’s potential non-compliance with HLC requirements. HLC does not accept complaints through mail, email or over the phone. As stated in HLC policy, the complaints process is designed to enable HLC to review, in a timely and fair manner, information that suggests potential substantive non-compliance with an institution’s ability to meet HLC requirements.

The links below provide information on the HLC complaint policy and process.

Professional Licensure

NC-SARA does not deal with professional licensing board approval for any courses or programs leading to professional licensure.

MVNU Professional Programs are designed to prepare students for professional licensure after program completion. Licensure requirements in most professions vary by state, so completion of the MVNU program may not prepare the student for licensure in all states.

The information linked below shares what we know about the licensure requirements in the states as they relate to the MVNU programs.
