Class-Based Support
Career advisors can provide in-class presentations on various career development topics including internships, resumes, interviews and job searching. Presentations can be customized to fit relevant course topics and programs of study. Additional support can be provided to faculty for courses that are designed to enhance students' career development, such as mock interview resources, resume resources, and internship program guidance.
Career Advising Referrals
Career Development provides students career advising services and resources on various career related issues, including choosing appropriate majors, exploring careers of interest, internships, resumes, interviews and job search. As part of the advising process, or in conjunction with course assignments, career assessments are also available, including personality and interest inventories. Please advise students to contact Career Development for assistance.
Resources for Students
We encourage faculty and staff to explore the resources that are available to students, and advise them to utilize all that is available to help clarify their career goals, prepare for their field, and practice effective job search skills. To learn about the most relevant resources available from Career Development, visit the traditional student page.
Internships and Job Postings
Handshake is our new centralized system for job and internship postings, and student resume uploads. Students will be able to continue using the system when they become alumni. MVNU faculty can have accounts set up in order to view job and internship postings. Contact Gary Swisher for assistance.
