IGNITE Application Process
Everything you need to know to start the application process is right here in easy to follow steps — including a code to apply for free!
Apply
Click the button below and use: MVNUIGNITE to apply for free. Include the following supplemental items in your application (not required, but encouraged): Projects, honors, awards, portfolios, a personal statement regarding why the applicant would like to participate in the IGNITE program (it can be written, audio, or video), etc.
Request official transcript, IEP or 504 plan, and Evaluation Team Report (ETR)
Download the form to request that your high school send an official copy of your transcript, most recent IEP or 504 plan, and most recent ETR (must be written within the last three years) to the IGNITE Program.
NOTE: All admissions materials must be received before applications are reviewed.
Document Review
Once all documents are submitted, they will be reviewed by the IGNITE Program Staff. References will be contacted during this phase. Students and parents/guardians may be contacted during this time for clarification or additional information. If the applicant has met all of the admission criteria, a recommendation to move to the next stage of the admissions process will be sent to the IGNITE Advisory Team for consideration.
Admissions Interview
If selected, interviews are held throughout the academic year for those who have completed an application and appear to fit program criteria.
Enrollment and Additional Paperwork
When an applicant is selected for IGNITE, a letter of acceptance, information about the required summer orientation program, and Financial Aid information will be sent to the applicant within one month of the interview. Additional paperwork/online forms will be required.
IGNITE Orientation
All additional paperwork/forms must be completed and applicable deposits made in order to be eligible for IGNITE orientation.
