Logistics Management is one of six comprehensive MSM concentrations offered by MVNU.

The Logistics Management MSM concentration is ideal for business professionals interested in a career in designing and managing business processes, either directly (e.g., VP of Operations or COO) or indirectly (e.g., management consulting). The MSM in Logistics Management is also perfect for individuals who manage interfaces between operations and other business functions.

Books and Outside Resources

Textbooks will be embedded throughout most courses at no additional charge. However, some courses may require an outside book or resource that students will need to buy separately. A link to the university's book program will be provided to students when necessary.

Curriculum

Concentration courses will include:

Operations Management

A study of business processes, procedures and strategies used to transform inputs into finished goods and services. The course consists of two main components: a body of knowledge component and a critical thinking component.

Lean Process Management

This course offers a practical introduction to lean management principles and techniques. It is tailored to help the student implement lean manufacturing in a business environment to improve productivity, business resilience, and to reduce waste.

Supply Chain Management

his course covers basic principles of supply chain management and provides techniques used to analyze various aspects of logistics systems. Key concepts such as inventory management, communication, warehousing, distribution, and facility location are examined as an integral part of modern business. The course addresses insights, concepts, practical tools, and decision support systems that are important for effective management of supply chains.

The MSM curriculum is comprised of six graduate business core courses making up 18 credit hours.

The remaining 12 credit hours are taken in the student’s chosen concentration - Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering Management, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology Management, or Logistics Management.
