New Student Orientation, a two-day event, is essential and required for all new freshmen, transfer, and full-time College Credit Plus students who are enrolling for fall 2026.

Thursday, June 11
5:30-7 p.m. — Check-In (Chapel)
7-8:15 p.m. — Opening Service (Chapel)
8:30-10 p.m. — Student Hangout (Quad)
8:30-9:30 p.m. — Parent Mixer (Foster Hall)

Friday, June 12
8-9 a.m. — Breakfast (Cafeteria)
9-9:45 a.m. — Worship & Info Session (Chapel)
10-11:15 a.m. — Academic Department Meetings (Various)
10-11:15 a.m.— Parent Session and Q&A (Foster Hall)
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Student Lunch (Cafeteria)
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Parent Lunch (Ariel Arena)
12:30-2:30 p.m.— Optional Activities (Various)
2:30-3:30 p.m. — Closing Session (Chapel)

Housing Information

Student Housing
New Student Orientation is an overnight event on June 11 and 12. All incoming students will be provided housing on campus in dorms and apartments. When possible, incoming freshmen will be placed in their assigned dorm room with their assigned roommate.

Guest Housing
Parents/guardians are welcome to stay on MVNU's campus in upperclassmen townhome apartments or secure their own off-campus housing. There are many local lodging options in the Mount Vernon community. Some may offer an MVNU discount (please see our Local Lodging website for more details).

Each on-campus townhome has two floors, with private bedroom/bathroom spaces for families and a shared common living area. Every bedroom contains 2 twin beds and all bed linens, pillows, and towels will be provided.

Upstairs: two bedrooms and one shared bathroom (4 people)
Downstairs: one bedroom with a private en suite bathroom (2 people)
