ACCUPLACER
Use this guide to prepare yourself for taking your ACCUPLACER academic assessments with ProctorU.
If you have any questions or want additional support — please contact us. We are here to help you!
You need to create your account before you can book or write your exam - the earlier, the better. After creating your account, you need to test your computer to make sure everything is working properly. Go to the Prepare Your Computer section below to learn more.
- Use your MVNU email.
- Select the time zone you are currently in.
Important note: If you accidentally create a ProctorU account that is not under the College Board (ACCUPLACER) institution in ProctorU, please let us know immediately. We will work to have this issue fixed right away.
If you book to write your exam at a time outside of MVNU's office hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday), ProctorU, as always, is your first point of contact for technical support. In the rare case that no one can fix the problem, please email Dualenrollment@mvnu.edu to let us know what happened. We will get back to you as soon as we re-open.

Any kind of remote access program, remote desktop access solutions, or remote desktop software needs to be uninstalled prior to taking your test. You will not be able to take your test if you have these types of programs installed on your device on your exam day.
Programs can include, but not limited to: Anydesk, Ultraviewer, Teamviewer, Tvnserver.

Important exam-related notes:
- You cannot go backward to revisit a question once you submit your answer. Be sure of your answer before you proceed!
Important note: you cannot use your bathroom to write your exam, even if it meets all room requirements.
On your exam day:
- If you have followed all the previous steps and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to MVNU Dual Enrollment immediately before proceeding. You can connect with us at DualEnrollment@mvnu.edu or 740-399-8608.
- If you get disconnected, ProctorU may try to phone you to help resolve the issue. Please retrieve/turn on your phone during this time.
- Make sure your computer passes the equipment test, and that you have installed the Guardian Browser. Click on the Prepare Your Computer section for more information and/or the Guardian Browser download link here. We also recommend for you to restart your device prior to writing your exam to free up space in your RAM.
- Log in to ProctorU at least 10 minutes early to get ready for your exam.
- Make sure you are in a private, well-lit location — no one is allowed in the same room with you. Be prepared to show the proctor your room and your cleared workspace.
- Have a government-issued photo ID (not expired) or your NorQuest photo ID ready to show your proctor.
- There are steps to go through before your exam begins. These steps do not take away from your exam time. Your exam time does not start until the exam is opened for you. These steps may take 5-10 minutes. Please note that you are being recorded during the check-in period.
- If your internet connection gets cut off, you may get disconnected from your exam session. Once you get internet back, log back into your ProctorU account. Select “Reconnect” on your main dashboard. If you are disconnected for too long, you may need to rebook your appointment.
- Note: headphones are not allowed during your exam unless you have an approved accommodation from Accessibility Services.
Important exam-related notes:
- You cannot go backward to revisit a question once you submit your answer. Be sure of your answer before you proceed!
I have exam accommodations from Accessibility Services — what do I need to do?
Generally, if you have exam accommodations from Accessibility Services, you will NOT be using ProctorU. Because many accommodations are not compatible with ProctorU, you will need to provide an acceptible score through a different provider (ACT, SAT). These test options are not offered at MVNU but can be scheduled through their normal test options including accomodations.
