Off-Campus Engagement

Expand your classroom. Explore your world.

Center for Global Engagement MVNU Mount Vernon Nazarene University off-campus

From central Ohio to the far corners of the globe, MVNU’s Off-Campus Engagement opportunities take you beyond the classroom into real-world contexts where faith, learning, and service come alive. Whether you’re serving in local communities, participating in semester exchanges with partner institutions, or studying away across the U.S. and around the world, you’ll experience learning that is both hands-on and life-changing.

We've got you covered! To support you on the journey, every off-campus experience includes thoughtful orientation and reflective debriefing to ensure each opportunity is transformative. Along the way, you’ll gain practical experience, grow in confidence, and develop the skills that set you apart as a servant-leader ready to make a difference wherever God calls you.

Local Opportunities

We believe global engagement starts in your own backyard. MVNU partners with local organizations to empower students to engage problems and address needs here in Knox County and all around central Ohio.

National Opportunities

Study across the U.S. with immersive, on-location courses during a semester, spring break, summer, or full academic year.

  • Service-Learning Trips — Serve alongside community partners while you learn.

"While I was in Ecuador, I learned our world is so big and full of so many people that are unique. Having an experience out of your context and your comfort zone can give you a new appreciation for people who are different from you."
