Where To Eat On Campus
Dining Commons (Hyson Campus Center)
The main dining commons offers a variety of changing options for students to choose from. Menus are distributed online and via the Dining Services social media. Traditional, residential students who live on campus are required to be on the meal plan. Commuter students may purchase a commuter meal plan or purchase meals at a la carte prices.
MVNU's food service provider, Pioneer College Caterers Inc., works diligently with students to meet most dietary restrictions, preferences and needs.

Additional Services
Each residential student is given $30 in Road Bucks per semester, which are tracked through their student ID. For commuter students, Road Bucks are available at the MVNU Dining Services website in increments of $25, $50, and $100 with discounts of 10%, 15% and 20% respectively. Road Bucks can be used at the Tossed Café and are accepted in the Dining Commons. Students can also use Road Bucks at Happy Bean (library & downtown) and Dave’s Cosmic Subs (downtown). All Road Bucks expire at the end of the Spring term.
A sack lunch is provided to those who cannot be present for a meal due to a conflict in class schedule, work, most organized school functions, or student teaching and other internship experiences. Students may sign up for this service by completing a Sack Lunch Program Form and submitting it to the Dining Commons office. Sack lunches are prepared and stocked Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.- 9 a.m. and will include items from the sub-station plus pudding, fruit, chips, yogurt, and/or cookies and a variety of breads, a limited salad bar, and soda or water. These lunches are stocked in the on-campus Happy Bean location (library) and downtown in Hunter Hall.
Green-on-the-Go boxes allow students on the meal plan to take food from the Cafeteria without worrying about washing dishes. The process is outlined below:
- Ask the cashier for a Green-on-the-Go kit or exchange card.
- Pay a deposit of $5 for your Green-on-the-Go kit or exchange card.
- Return your kit to the cashier for washing and you will be given a fresh Green-on-the-Go kit (if you are dining to go) or a Green-on-the-Go exchange card to be used later (if you are dining in).
- Your deposit will be refunded at the end of the year by turning in either your Green-on-the-Go kit or exchange card.
