Global Leadership Scholars Program

The Global Leadership Scholars Program is an Intercultural Life initiative designed for students who desire to grow as culturally aware, service-driven, and community-minded leaders. Grounded in MVNU’s commitment to holistic development, this scholarship supports students who engage deeply with diverse cultures, practice leadership within intercultural spaces, and serve the MVNU community.
Purpose
The purpose of the Global Leadership Scholars Program is to develop a cohort of leaders who embody cultural humility, leadership maturity, academic responsibility, and a heart for service. The program prepares students to navigate multicultural environments with integrity, sensitivity, and professionalism — skills that will serve them well at MVNU and in communities around the world.
Program Overview
This renewable scholarship is awarded each year to Global Leadership Scholars who maintain strong academic standing, participate fully in Intercultural Life’s leadership structure, and demonstrate consistent commitment to community engagement.
Requirements
- Membership in one Intercultural Life organization: Hernicia, BSU, Lugaw, or Google Developer Club. (Incoming freshman can join one of these clubs during the club fair).
- Attendance at monthly leadership meetings.
- Attendance at monthly club meetings.
- Participation in two service events per year (one each semester).
- Strict attendance: one excused absence per semester for illness, family emergency, or athletic travel.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 required for renewal.
- No make-up sessions offered; students with student-teaching conflicts are not eligible.
Scholarship Award
- $2,500 per year.
- Only 10 seats are available for each class year: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior.
