Gather Together
Chapel is the heartbeat of our campus. It is a time when the MVNU community comes together to worship, reflect, and grow in faith. Three times each week, students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to gather, united in a shared desire to encounter God.
These moments of worship aren’t just tradition — they’re transformative. As we lift our voices, open Scripture, and listen together, chapel becomes a place where hearts are shaped, community is strengthened, and Christ remains at the center.
What is the MVNU Chapel Theme for this year?
Our chapel theme this year is “I Am. You Are.”, inspired by our university scripture found in John 15:5:
“I am the vine; you are the branches… Apart from me you can do nothing.”
Throughout the first semester, we will focus on the powerful “I Am” statements of Jesus found throughout the Gospel of John. Before we can fully understand who we are, we must first understand who Jesus is.
During the second semester, our focus will shift to “You Are.” When we understand who Jesus is, it changes the way we understand ourselves. Our identity is not defined by the world around us, our successes, our failures, or our insecurities. Our identity is rooted in Christ and who He says we are.
As an MVNU community, our prayer is that we would know Jesus more deeply, discover more fully who we are because of Him, and learn what it means to remain connected to the One who gives us life.
I Am. You Are. Apart from Him, we can do nothing.
Chapel Times
Three times a week, students come together to grow spiritually and build community in the R.R. Hodges Chapel. Monday chapel unites the whole campus — faculty, staff, and students — while Tuesday evenings offer a space for student-led worship.

"My favorite thing about MVNU is its Christ-centeredness. I wanted the college I chose to further my spiritual growth and MVNU has helped tremendously... I love that MVNU has various worship nights and 3 chapel services a week. These have helped me grow in my faith in ways I truly can’t explain. There’s something about looking around the chapel and realizing that although everyone is a different age, has a different major than you, and are from different walks of life, we can still all come together as one beautiful body of Christ."
