The primary form of communication is through email directly to the professor.  Students are expected to be proactive in their communication!  If you are unwell and will miss class, email your professor to let them know and to make arrangements to make up any missed work. 

CCP students are excused from classes for university-sponsored events and extracurricular events sanctioned by the student’s home high school or middle school.  Students must communicate with faculty and provide documentation of their participation in the event for the absence to be excused.  The documentation should be verified by a school administrator, coach, or director in charge of the event for it to be valid.  

Other excused absences include emergency or death in the immediate family, legal responsibilities, short-term illness, extended illness, and more.  Please see the Traditional Academic Catalog for additional details. 

Attendance in online classes is taken through interaction with the class weekly.  Students should be turning in work on time, participating in discussion boards, etc., every week.  If a student does not participate for an entire week, they will be counted as absent unexcused. 

No.  MVNU’s Algebra course is a remedial course that is taught at the high school level.  CCP funding does not apply to this course.  Student who want to increase their math skills are welcome to use the Family Pay option to take this course. 

If your school opts-in to our Textbook Rental Program, MVNU’s Dual Enrollment Office will purchase your textbooks and any class codes that you need.  If your school does not participate in our Textbook Rental Program, your school counselor will work with you to get your textbooks.  If you are a homeschooled student, you will need to purchase your textbooks here.

Many of the products that use an access code provide a free trial of the material.  If you start with the free trial, this trial will expire (usually 7-14 days after initial access), and you will need to provide the code that was purchased for you (or you will need to purchase if not participating in MVNU’s Textbook Rental Program).  This code can be found on your MVNU Ecampus Digital Bookshelf.

If you must miss class for any reason, you should email your professor(s) as soon as you know that you will be absent. If you need to receive an excused absence, please email the details of the absence (sickness, specific school event, etc.) to AcademicAffairs@mvnu.edu.  You will also need to provide any proofs that they require (doctor’s excuse, etc.).

If you drop a class after University Statistics Day, you will receive a “W” grade that does not affect your GPA.  However, if you are a public-school student, your home high school can request reimbursement for the tuition and books for the class.  If you are a private school student or a homeschooled student, your hours for that class are used and cannot be reallocated to another class. 

MVNU feels that it is important for all students to know and understand their rights and how MVNU can support them.  The state of Ohio also requires certain trainings at the college level.  Accordingly, Dual Enrollment students have a modified track of 3 mandatory trainings including Title 9, FERPA, and Hazing.

If you email your request to DualEnrollment@mvnu.edu with your name, sport, and which quarter your need the form for, the Dual Enrollment office will complete the form and will return it to you.  We are able to provide all your grades at one time; no need to go to each professor.
