Spiritual Life at MVNU
Faith guides who we are at MVNU and how we journey together as a community. The rhythm of daily life at MVNU includes intentional opportunities for spiritual formation that help you grow in grace, truth, and love.
We gather as a campus for chapel — lifting our voices in worship, opening God’s Word, and seeking His presence together. It’s a sacred space where community is strengthened and Christ is always at the center.
Beyond chapel, small groups offer a more personal setting to build relationships, ask hard questions, and walk with others on the journey of faith. And through service opportunities — both on campus and around the world — you’ll put that faith into action, learning to lead with compassion and live out God’s love in tangible ways.
Gather
Worshiping and learning together in chapel is one of the ways we encounter God’s grace as a community.
Connect
Freshmen Belong Groups, as well as Life Groups and Mentoring for Sophomores through Seniors, are a vital part of campus discipleship.
Serve
Students have the opportunity to volunteer in many local organizations to meet the needs of our community through CoSMO Groups and travel.
Spiritual Formation Credits
All students are required to earn 24 spiritual formation credits, and first time in college students are required to earn an additional 10 credits through Belong Group participation.
Commuter students are required to earn 18 spiritual formation credits. To be considered for a reduced requirement, commuters must submit a petition for reduced credits to spirituallife@mvnu.edu.
You receive spiritual formation credit by scanning a QR code at the end of service, event or small group gathering in the iAttended app on your smart phone. The app will contain a list of all spiritual formation opportunities as well as a current record of all credits received.
